About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Obtain supplier quotes according to customer needs
- Manage the local purchase parts life cycle and set up parts in P21
- Manage purchase orders to procure material according to requests from Trane Parts Stores
- Maintain daily contact with stores
- Manage purchase orders and resolve purchase order issues with suppliers, stores, and the retail planning team
- Ensure parts availability and delivery
- Communicate with field teams and suppliers regarding purchasing requests and orders
- Maintain accurate supplier and part data in systems, including part and supplier setup
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects and improvement initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree preferred and 1 year of relevant purchasing, sourcing or equivalent experience OR 5+ years of experience in lieu of degree
- Good PC skills and knowledge of MS Office applications
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Action-oriented and organized to handle a large volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- P21 knowledge preferred
- Basic knowledge of supplier processes and capabilities
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to communicate effectively with various audiences
- Ability to work cohesively with others and with external suppliers
- Ability to work well in a distribution environment
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
- Safety-sensitive role may require passing additional drug screening
