About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Improve strategic suppliers' quality performance for Trane manufacturing sites and final customers
  • Ensure compliance with the Global Supplier Quality Manual under the Trane Technologies Business Operating System
  • Provide servant leadership for the supplier corrective action program
  • Increase tool usage across sites and improve efficiency and effectiveness for non-conforming material, return material authorization, and corrective action requests
  • Provide suppliers technical oversight in process development, PFMEA, control plans, PPAP, measurement systems, standard work, and error proofing
  • Coordinate initiatives between manufacturing site SQEs and suppliers for effective problem solving
  • Assist in managing supplier-caused quality escapes, including on-site intervention
  • Support supplier recovery initiatives involving warranty, concessions, and production interruptions
  • Leverage enterprise supplier development and commodity-based expertise
  • Coordinate supplier-initiated temporary or permanent change requests affecting multiple manufacturing sites
  • Promote supplier quality maturity and drive applicable KPIs
  • Collaborate with field quality, operations, engineering, and procurement in a matrixed organization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in various functions of manufacturing, engineering, and/or quality
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally within a matrixed organization
  • Exceptional analytical and detailed problem-solving skills
  • Experience with lean principles and techniques, including visual management, Kaizen, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and culture of quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally
  • Experience in manufacturing environments preferred
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent body of knowledge preferred
