About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Commission, program, set up graphics and communications links for assigned projects
  • Perform end-to-end testing, troubleshooting and servicing
  • Document point-to-point verification, sequence-of-operations validation and job closeout requirements
  • Serve as direct customer contact and service products and equipment at customer locations
  • Identify, diagnose and repair equipment and systems
  • Coordinate with team leaders and customers to understand on-site installation and repair requirements
  • Examine building layouts, forecast issues, gather materials and synchronize on-site work
  • Maintain current knowledge of Trane products and direct digital control system installation, operation, maintenance, service and repair
  • Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets
  • Maintain flexibility for overtime, weekends and occasional overnight stays

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion from an accredited technical school
  • At least 7 years of experience in HVAC/Controls
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Working proficiency with handheld computers such as smartphones and iPads
  • Valid driver’s license held for a minimum of 12 months
  • No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit-and-run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
  • Previous experience with DDC controls systems preferred
  • Technical school or formal training preferred
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required, including occasional overnight stays
  • Ability to pass additional drug screening for this safety-sensitive role
