About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in a defined commercial market
- Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems
- Service products and equipment on assigned projects at customer locations
- Identify, examine, diagnose, and repair equipment and systems
- Coordinate with team leader/project manager and customers to understand on-site installation and repair requirements
- Forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work
- Use software, technology, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units
- Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company assets
- Record asset use, wear, and condition
- Mentor team members
- Maintain flexibility for overtime, business-required weeks, and occasional overnight stays
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience working on air/water-cooled chillers and associated hydronic systems
- Heightened knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including RTUs, split systems, VFDs, and AHUs
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion from an accredited technical school
- Typically at least 10+ years of experience in HVAC
- Technical school or formal training is preferred
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Working proficiency with a handheld computer, such as a smartphone or iPad
- Valid driver's license held for a minimum of 12 months
- No major or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple smaller infractions, or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
- EPA Certification is preferred, such as HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, or Gas Installer
- Ability to work overtime and weeks as business requires, including occasional overnight stays
