About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create 3D and 2D graphics for control projects submitted by Commercial Sales & Service Offices
- Produce designs and documentation using computer design and product lifecycle management systems
- Document parts and bills of materials
- Enhance existing designs and develop new design solutions for product offerings
- Work from oral engineering instructions or written procedures, schematics, drawings and sketches
- Lead small segments of large projects and complete assigned work
- Identify and correct potential design problems and errors
- Maintain competency in computer-aided graphic systems and other applications through company training
- Collaborate as part of the product engineering and design team
- Travel to various locations when required to support products or train personnel
- Receive assignments from engineers or senior staff; work is reviewed by engineers or senior department members
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s Degree (AAS) in Drafting & Design Technology or related discipline and at least 2 years of work experience using computer-aided graphic solutions
- OR High School Diploma and at least 5 years of work experience using computer-aided graphic solutions
- Experience in SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, CAD, AutoCAD or ProEngineer
- Develop good working knowledge of design and drafting standard practices, methods and processes
- Ability to work from engineering instructions, procedures, schematics, drawings and sketches
- Ability to lead small segments of large projects
- Customer-driven, innovative and quality-minded approach
- Good communication skills
- Adherence to company safety and security policies and procedures
- May be required to travel to various locations to support products or train personnel
