  • Serve as subject-matter expert for multithreaded application design and resolve complex synchronization and thread-lifecycle issues
  • Diagnose and resolve high-impact production issues involving concurrency, stability, performance, memory usage, and resource contention
  • Establish self-managing service patterns, including startup validation, orchestration and worker-thread models, heartbeat monitoring, dead-thread recovery, escalation thresholds, and visible blocked states
  • Define transaction-integrity models with dead-letter handling and recoverable, replayable processing
  • Provide technical authority for SQL Server design and performance, including execution plans, indexing, isolation levels, concurrency, deadlocks, connection resiliency, and bounded-memory data access
  • Establish data-access architecture and standards using LLBLGen or comparable ORM frameworks
  • Define deployment, configuration, monitoring, and operational practices for Windows Services
  • Design application-owned observability with health, backlog, queue-depth, and end-to-end traceability visibility
  • Create and govern technical standards, reusable patterns, reference designs, runbooks, and documentation across teams
  • Influence product, architecture, engineering, and support stakeholders on technology decisions
  • Lead design and code reviews for high-risk work and mentor senior developers and technical professionals
  • Resolve ambiguous cross-functional technical challenges and provide recommendations to technology leadership
  • Anticipate technology risks and modernization needs, define improvement strategies, and lead adoption of tools and frameworks

  • Six years of professional software engineering experience with substantial depth in C# and the .NET Framework (4.x)
  • Deep hands-on multithreading and concurrency expertise, including Monitor, lock, volatile, Interlocked, ManualResetEvent/AutoResetEvent, deadlocks, race conditions, and resource contention
  • Production experience building and operating Windows Services, including ServiceBase, Service Control Manager, InstallUtil/ProjectInstaller, OnStart/OnStop lifecycle correctness, and Windows Event Log
  • Proven experience diagnosing and permanently resolving intermittent production failures, service hangs, memory exhaustion, and stability issues
  • Five years of advanced SQL Server engineering experience, including transactions, isolation levels, concurrency, deadlock prevention/retry/resolution, execution-plan analysis, indexing, and connection resiliency
  • Strong understanding of relational design, RDBMS, normalization, and star/Kimball reporting models
  • Experience with LLBLGen or a comparable ORM such as Entity Framework
  • Expertise with Visual Studio, Git/Bitbucket, SQL Server Management Studio, NUnit or comparable tools, and build/deployment pipelines
  • Knowledge of service-oriented architecture, dependency injection, OOD/OOP, and separation of concerns
  • Ability to operate independently, make and document engineering decisions, verify work against requirements, and improve code and documentation
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to present technical information to all organizational levels
