About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with development staff, including contract and offshore Software Engineers, and business product owners in an agile environment
- Perform design and analysis for deliverables
- Support analysis and general architectural design across platforms for end-to-end solutions
- Use third-party software development frameworks, open-source libraries, and APIs to develop application solutions
- Learn current advances and new technologies to support the environment and project deliverables
- Code, test, identify, implement, and document solutions using Python, .NET, web, cloud, and data integration technologies
- Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance Python applications, automation solutions, APIs, ETL processes, and operational support tools
- Support production operations through root cause analysis, defect remediation, data validation, automation, and continuous improvement
- Work in a hybrid office environment Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
- Work outside normal business hours when required
- Travel occasionally, less than 10%
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, math, engineering, or other technical field, or equivalent education/experience
- At least one year of professional software development experience using Python, .NET/C#, or comparable object-oriented programming languages
- Knowledge of software development languages and frameworks, including Python, .NET/C#, Java, OOD, and OOP
- One year of experience and proficiency in database design techniques and philosophies, including RDBMS, Document, Star Schema, and Kimball Model
- Understanding of NoSQL database technologies, including MS Cosmos DB, Apache Cassandra, and Amazon DynamoDB
- Understanding of AWS cloud services and supporting tools
- Experience with build and deployment tools, including Visual Studio, Git/Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, SQL Management Studio, NUnit, and Ajax
- Knowledge of distributed computing, including MS HPC, SageMaker, and Spark
- One year of experience with integration and service frameworks, including API Gateways, Swagger API, Zookeeper, Kafka, messaging tools, and microservices
- Experience with continuous integration/development tools and CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins, Docker, Containers, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and container automation
- Understanding of software development and research tools
- Experience with scripting, automation, and operational support using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Technical communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines
