About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify opportunities to improve valuation processes, controls, and operational effectiveness
- Lead and support initiatives enhancing efficiency, scalability, and consistency across valuation activities
- Transition valuation efforts from ad hoc investigations and manual analyses to proactive monitoring and issue identification
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate current processes and implement sustainable improvements
- Support valuation model development, enhancement, and validation
- Participate in financial reporting modernization and future-state valuation initiatives
- Analyze and improve valuation data sourcing and data flow processes
- Partner with data and technology teams to strengthen data quality, transparency, and governance
- Develop analytical tools, reporting capabilities, and dashboards for management insights
- Automate manual processes and strengthen controls to reduce operational risk and improve reporting efficiency
- Support high-priority strategic ad-hoc projects across the Life business
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on complex actuarial and business challenges
- Provide analytical support for valuation, financial reporting, modeling, and process transformation initiatives
- Assist with implementation and integration activities for new business opportunities and strategic initiatives
- Support assumption review, monitoring, and governance processes
- Analyze business impact of assumption changes and emerging experience trends
- Streamline assumption maintenance while maintaining governance standards
- Develop frameworks and methodologies to improve efficiency and prioritization of actuarial work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field and 5 years of relevant experience
- In lieu of Bachelor's, Master's in a listed discipline and 3 years of relevant experience
- ASA or equivalent professional designation
- High quality judgment, organization and prioritization skills
- Ability to communicate advanced mathematical and analytical concepts verbally and in writing to various audiences
- Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints
- Advanced computer skills
- Preferred: experience in life valuation, financial reporting, assumption development, or actuarial modeling
- Preferred: exposure to US GAAP, statutory reporting, principle-based reserving, or related valuation frameworks
- Preferred: experience with business process improvement, automation, or transformation initiatives
- Preferred: strong data analytics skills, including SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar tools
- Preferred: familiarity with actuarial modeling platforms such as AXIS or comparable systems
- Preferred: experience developing management reporting, dashboards, or analytical solutions
