About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with TLC’s impact litigation docket through legal research, case investigation, and document review
  • Produce legal writing, including internal memoranda and court documents
  • Participate in co-counsel meetings
  • Support policy advocacy, including drafting policy materials
  • Engage in non-litigation advocacy on behalf of clients
  • Draft Helpdesk and Prison Mail Program responses and public resources
  • Work under the supervision of Transgender Law Center attorneys
  • Interact regularly with staff through team meetings and weekly supervision check-ins

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Enrollment in an ABA accredited law school
  • Interest in transgender issues and civil rights law
  • Commitment to racial and economic justice
  • Strong writing and research skills
  • Submit a cover letter and resume
  • Indicate whether funding is being sought and disclose any other funding sources for the internship period if applicable
