About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Translate and proofread Life Science documents from English into Simplified Chinese (China)
Act as a client-facing linguistic point of contact for TransPerfect
Review and investigate client complaints and quality-related issues
Determine root causes and provide documented responses and corrective actions
Maintain language quality standards across projects and accounts
Manage translation memories, glossaries, and style guides
Work with Project Managers on project requirements, scope, timelines, and client expectations
Gather and relay client feedback and incorporate it into ongoing and future work
Manage and guide a group of linguists, including assigning work and providing feedback
Ensure adherence to client requirements and quality standards
Ensure translation accuracy, consistency, and compliance with client and regulatory terminology

Requirements

What you’ll need

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Simplified Chinese (China)
Expertise in CTD Quality, CTD Non-Clinical, and/or CTD Clinical fields
Strong attention to detail, including spelling and grammar accuracy
Ability to maintain professionalism and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
Strong client communication skills, including handling complaints and feedback diplomatically and constructively
Ability to manage, mentor, and give clear feedback to other linguists
Strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate with Project Managers and cross-functional teams
Applicants must meet at least one of: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies, or equivalent translation-training program; 2 years of professional translation experience plus a college degree; 5 years of professional translation experience without a college degree; or a translation competence certificate issued by an appropriate government authority
Applicants must sign a confidentiality agreement
Must complete translation and MTPE assessments
Preferred: academic background in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field
Preferred: experience translating regulatory/pharmaceutical documents
Preferred: familiarity with CTD structure and terminology and CMC technical content
Preferred: prior lead, reviewer, or quality management experience, including client feedback or complaint handling
Preferred: experience with language asset management and CAT tools
