About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on access and reimbursement for FILSPARI (Sparsentan)
  • Provide education and case-specific support to HCPs, sales force, and other internal and external stakeholders within the assigned geography
  • Manage patient access and reimbursement support throughout the FILSPARI onboarding process
  • Guide offices through Patient Start Form submission, REMS enrollment, prior authorizations, appeals, and reimbursement
  • Monitor cases as they progress through onboarding
  • Identify and resolve complex patient access issues across the Hub, HCP offices, field team, specialty pharmacies, and REMS administrator
  • Assist with incomplete PSFs and REMS enrollment forms and coordinate missing information
  • Support resolution of prior authorization issues, appeals, denials, letters of medical necessity, and REMS requirements
  • Communicate case challenges, solutions, next steps, and ownership to reimbursement stakeholders
  • Obtain case-status updates and maintain daily logs and notes in the standardized platform
  • Lead weekly case-status meetings with sales force and sales leadership
  • Educate the sales force on pharmaceutical reimbursement complexities and payer claim approval requirements
  • Coordinate with Hub, specialty pharmacies, and REMS administrator stakeholders to move cases forward
  • Operate in compliance with HIPAA and program guidelines
  • Monitor regional and local access landscapes, payer trends, and healthcare changes
  • Identify reimbursement barriers and create quarterly business plans to address them
  • Develop and execute HCP office education strategies with sales counterparts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required; equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered
  • 5+ years in pharmaceutical / health industry working with Hubs, payers, HCPs or related area
  • 3+ years reimbursement / access / case management experience
  • Specialty pharmaceutical, nephrology, rare disease, REMS experience preferred
  • Experience managing access complexities associated with a new to market medication
  • Prior account management experience or experience with complex accounts
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy products or products acquired through specialty pharmacy networks or specialty distributors (buy and bill)
  • Proven ability to build relationships with HCPs, office staff, sales team, and Hub counterparts
  • Comprehensive understanding of private/commercial insurance reimbursement, Medicare Part D, VA, and other government payers
  • Demonstrated experience educating on benefit verifications, prior authorization, appeals, denials, letters of medical necessity, and pre-determination requirements
  • Computer skills, including basic Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to resolve issues and educate virtually within access, reimbursement, or case management
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complexity
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must live in the assigned territory or immediate adjacency
  • Flexibility to travel as needed, up to 35%
  • Ability to perform face-to-face work with customers and colleagues and/or onsite in San Diego
  • Ability to meet credentialing requirements for access to healthcare facilities and customer sites within the territory
