Key responsibilities & impact

Design and lead the architecture of a next-generation conversational AI platform replacing traditional search with intelligent dialogue
Own systems that understand user intent, determine required information, retrieve data from multiple real-time providers, reason across competing options, and generate conversational responses leading from discovery to transaction
Architect the AI orchestration layer coordinating multiple large language models, specialized agents, retrieval systems, recommendation engines, and external APIs
Assemble and rank information from ticketing providers, hotels, airlines, restaurants, transportation services, mapping platforms, weather services, and other third-party data sources
Design systems for multi-step task planning, conversational context, tool execution, result ranking, and adaptation based on user feedback
Define technical vision and architectural standards
Evaluate emerging AI technologies
Mentor senior engineers, architects, and principal engineers
Make long-term decisions regarding LLM strategy, retrieval architecture, agent design, memory management, semantic search, vector databases, knowledge graphs, and AI evaluation frameworks
Collaborate with Principal Architects for backend infrastructure, payments, blockchain, messaging, mini-programs, and platform services
Ensure seamless ecosystem integration with scalability, reliability, performance, and user experience

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience architecting and delivering production-scale AI platforms used by large numbers of users
Demonstrated leadership as a Principal Engineer, Chief Architect, Distinguished Engineer, or equivalent senior technical role
Deep expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, multi-agent systems, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic search, and modern AI orchestration frameworks
Strong understanding of recommendation engines, ranking algorithms, personalization, and conversational AI
Extensive experience designing distributed, cloud-native systems capable of operating at global scale with high availability and low latency
Hands-on experience integrating complex third-party APIs and building systems that combine multiple real-time data sources into a unified experience
Exceptional architectural judgment with the ability to simplify complex technical problems into scalable, maintainable solutions
Proven ability to lead senior engineering teams, mentor architects and principal engineers, establish engineering standards, and make long-term technical decisions
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and executive leadership
Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for building category-defining products
Track record of shipping ambitious, innovative products rather than simply maintaining existing platforms
Creative problem solver who can propose and support new ideas
Ability to adapt and work with a wide array of technologies
Comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and early-stage technology company growing pains
Exceptional entrepreneurial judgment that fosters independence over micro-management
Understanding of football and international sports is a huge plus
Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, open-source language models, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, DSPy, vector databases, graph databases, and modern AI infrastructure is highly desirable
