About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work as a member of a highway/roadway design team
- Prepare horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway sections, intersection layouts, sight-distance determinations, interchange layouts, and roadway drainage using FDOT, local, or AASHTO standards
- Prepare contract plan, specification, and estimate elements, including roadway sections, alignment/right-of-way plans, site preparation plans, roadway profiles, drainage plans and profiles, utility plans, paving, pavement marking, signing, traffic control, signalization, and lighting plans
- Assist in managing larger projects and/or manage smaller projects
- Prepare project scopes, budgets, and schedules
- Serve as technical liaison with clients and coordinate technical efforts within discipline areas
- Manage day-to-day client communication
- Support and advise junior engineers and technical staff
- Write reports and technical memoranda
- Coordinate with sub-consultants
- Keep projects on schedule and within budget
- Maintain client satisfaction
- Perform other duties as needed
- Report to the Transportation Manager within the Civil/Transportation group
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- EIT licensure is required
- 2–3 years of DOT experience
- Proficient knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and/or Autodesk Civil3D
- Experience with FDOT Bar Menus or other design software as appropriate
- Knowledge of the FDOT Design Manual
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Commitment to being an active participant of the Civil Works Team
- Ability to work full-time in the office in Miami, Florida
- Travel may include local travel during the business day and occasional out-of-area or overnight travel
- Must be eligible to work in the United States, as indicated by E-Verify participation
