About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform treatability studies
- Gather waste samples for treatability studies
- Record daily flow in the absence of the Manager
- Calibrate pH meters in the absence of the Manager
- Act as an attendant and, when necessary, perform confined space entry for tank truck cleaning
- Assist the wastewater operator with pumping, cleaning and maintaining wastewater equipment
- Dump, cut up and dispose of drums and totes when necessary
- Assist in cleaning truck unloading lines
- Provide equipment maintenance as needed
- Perform pump cleaning and maintenance
- Operate a lift truck as necessary
- Operate a backhoe as necessary for removal or movement of solid waste
- Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma, preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to use tools and equipment
- Ability to work in all weather conditions outdoors
- Working knowledge of forklifts and backhoes or willingness to receive on-the-job training to operate them
- Have or be able to complete confined space entry training
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times by lifting, pulling or pushing
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds by reaching above the shoulders
- Ability to work prolonged periods of walking and standing
- Ability to work in an environment with unexpected loud noises, beeping backup alarms, flashing lights and sudden movements
- Monday–Friday availability, 7:00 am–3:00 pm
- Mandatory overtime from time to time based on business need
- Must complete a TRCC application; incomplete applications will not be considered
- Resume in lieu of an application is not acceptable
