About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the accounting function end to end, including monthly close, revenue recognition, client billing, and financial reporting
  • Run bank and card reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Book stock-based compensation, lease entries under ASC 842, and FX revaluation on foreign balances
  • Own the close calendar, review journal entries, and improve close speed
  • Own revenue recognition and deferred revenue rollforward under ASC 606
  • Issue client invoices and review billable amounts, milestones, and hours with account leads
  • Resolve invoicing exceptions and review new contracts for billing and revenue-recognition treatment
  • Manage accounts receivable and follow up on aged balances
  • Run bi-weekly payroll across US and international entities and for external contractors
  • Review and pay external contractors; onboard contractors and manage W-9/W-8BEN collection and payment setup
  • Calculate and process quarterly sales commissions and bonuses
  • Own 401(k) administration, including deferral funding, compliance testing, and Form 5500
  • Run weekly payment runs and manage vendor spend postings
  • Review vendor invoices for prepaid versus expense treatment
  • Administer corporate cards and expense platform; issue cards and review reimbursements
  • Manage corporate mail and registered-agent correspondence
  • Issue new-hire stock grants and prepare board consents
  • Process terminations, share repurchases, and option exercises
  • Track 83(b) elections and ISO/NSO status
  • Run the annual 409A valuation process
  • Produce month-end financial statements and monthly reporting packages
  • Manage the annual audit, PBC schedules, and first-year opening balance sheet
  • Issue annual 1099, W-2, and 1042-S forms
  • Own the annual tax return package and tax-advisor relationship
  • Own the compliance calendar, including estimated tax payments, Delaware franchise tax, state registrations, and secretary of state filings
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and conduct periodic finance-system access reviews

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience
  • End-to-end month-end close experience, ideally at a fast-growing company
  • Hands-on ASC 606 experience with services or project-based revenue, including time and materials, milestones, and deferred revenue
  • Working knowledge of ASC 842 and stock-based compensation accounting
  • Experience with multi-country payroll accounting and multi-currency balances
  • Experience running payroll end to end
  • Comfortable owning equity and benefits administration
  • Fluency with modern cloud accounting/ERP systems such as NetSuite or Sage Intacct
  • Experience with spend-management tools
  • CPA or public accounting foundation is a plus
  • Uses AI tools in daily work
  • Ability to build processes, document work, and communicate clearly with non-finance partners
