About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide excellent customer service on all transactions
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, providers, and internal customers
  • Resolve inquiries and issues accurately and promptly
  • Respond to telephone, email, and written inquiries
  • Perform duties under general supervision
  • Provide first-level support for incoming calls using iCARE guidelines and customer service training
  • Escalate complaints and complex issues to Client Engagement Leadership
  • Participate in department metrics and goals to maximize quality and efficiency
  • Read and understand Client Engagement and TriCore policies and procedures
  • Perform other assigned duties as directed by leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Average grade on the alphanumeric typing test (4,000–5,999 keystrokes)
  • Experience in multitasking, attention to detail, handling sensitive information, and problem resolution
  • Customer service, persuasion, negotiating, and retention skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, empathize, and exercise key listening skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to meet personal metrics and organizational goals
  • Ability to work a set schedule, including lunches and breaks
  • Punctual attendance at required training
  • Accurate and fast typing
  • Flexibility to work holiday rotation, on-call schedule, and overtime when required
  • Comfort using a computer with dual screens, a headset, the Internet, and basic computer applications
  • Ability to learn clinical and anatomic pathology laboratory terminology
  • Associate’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Completion of an appropriate medical certificate training program preferred
  • Knowledge of laboratory tests/medical terminology preferred
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to use multiple applications simultaneously preferred
  • CES I: six months’ experience in a clinical laboratory or medical setting, or six months’ customer service experience; post-high-school education and/or experience may be substituted one for the other
  • CES II: one year relevant experience at TriCore, or two years’ relevant experience in a clinical laboratory or medical setting, or three years’ customer service experience; post-high-school education and/or experience may be substituted one for the other
  • CES III: two years’ relevant experience at TriCore, or three years’ relevant experience in a clinical laboratory or medical setting, or four years’ customer service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
