About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Stand up and operate a controlled, virtualized sandbox for evaluating technology concepts
  • Define and run a repeatable technical evaluation framework covering operational feasibility, cybersecurity risk, and architectural fit
  • Establish transition gates from sandbox to pilot to enterprise adoption or termination
  • Stand up candidate applications and capabilities
  • Integrate applications via APIs
  • Exercise applications against realistic synthetic or sanitized data
  • Document technical evaluation findings
  • Define selection criteria and success measures with the Analytics Engineer and Enterprise Architect
  • Lead technical onboarding and transition of successful technology programs into sustained enterprise environments
  • Support transition of technologies to the Chief Information Office when appropriate
  • Define security and access models for testing environments
  • Produce technical evaluation reports and findings for decision products
  • Provide direct support to the Army Materiel Command Chief Technology Officer as part of an enterprise-wide digital modernization effort

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience standing up, integrating, and operating software and cloud environments
  • Hands-on depth in several of: Azure, AWS, GCP, containers, CI/CD, DevSecOps tooling, API integration, infrastructure-as-code, and identity/access management (IdAM)
  • Ability to conduct rigorous technical evaluations and assess cybersecurity risk and architectural fit
  • Experience defining and operating controlled test environments with secure handling of synthetic or sanitized data
  • Clear technical writing skills and ability to produce evaluation reports for technical and senior-leadership audiences
  • Ability to operate amid ambiguous, fast-shifting priorities in a direct-support role
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain or maintain an active Secret security clearance or up to a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance
  • Prior Department of War or Army enterprise experience preferred
  • Familiarity with AMC, Organic Industrial Base (OIB), and supply chain logistics preferred
  • Experience onboarding capabilities into an authorized (ATO'd) production enterprise, including RMF/ATO exposure preferred
  • Familiarity with Army Vantage, Palantir Foundry, Databricks, or Snowflake preferred
  • Relevant cloud or security certifications such as AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, Security+, or CISSP preferred
  • Master's degree in a related technical discipline preferred
