About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead multiple civil engineering design teams in daily operations
- Lead design and execution of site development and land development projects throughout the Midwest
- Develop staffing needs and distribute work to balance team workloads
- Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, workload, utilization, and billable hours
- Provide technical guidance, quality control, and review/approval of construction documents
- Mentor staff and support office and company growth plans
- Manage proposals, contracts, project delivery, and project management activities
- Maintain strong client, municipality, and regulatory agency relationships
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary MSG teams, including surveying, environmental, geotechnical, structural, traffic, transportation, landscape architecture, funding strategies/grant writing, and construction administration
- Support business development and contribute to proposals and project pursuits
- Report to Alan Cruz
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience leading and overseeing civil engineering teams
- Experience with land development, site development, and commercial site design projects
- Experience managing project execution, workload distribution, and staff performance
- Experience mentoring and developing civil engineers and designers
- Knowledge of site layout, grading, utilities, stormwater management, and SWPPP plans
- Experience reviewing engineering plan sets, specifications, cost estimates, and bid packages
- Knowledge of feasibility studies, due diligence reports, zoning analyses, stormwater modeling, and detailed engineering plans
- Knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Ability to build relationships with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, resources, schedules, and budgets
- Proposal development and business development experience
- Must work full-time from the Columbus, OH office
- Willingness to relocate if not local; relocation assistance provided
