About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design project elements under the supervision of a professional engineer, including drainage conveyance systems, stormwater management BMPs, hydrologic and hydraulic design for bridges and culverts, and related elements
- Perform hydrologic, hydraulic, and drainage design calculations
- Prepare or assist with 3D design models in Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, and OpenRoads
- Draft contract plans and details for preliminary and final design phases
- Prepare quantity calculations, cost estimates, and supplemental specifications
- Perform site visits to support design efforts
- Prepare design and compliance reports supporting environmental permit applications
- Assist with permits for Federal, State, County, and local agencies, including FEMA, NJDEP, NJ Pinelands Commission, and County Soil Conservation Districts
- Attend client and regulatory agency meetings and prepare meeting minutes
- Work within a team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other related Engineering discipline
- 0-1 years of related experience; previous internship(s) preferred
- EIT preferred
- Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic principles, waterway floodplain delineations, bridge and culvert hydraulics
- CAD (AutoCAD, MicroStation) skills are a plus
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
- Ability to work within a team and independently
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
