About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, maintain, and grow strong relationships with key industrial clients across multiple levels of client organizations.
- Understand clients’ businesses, facilities, operational priorities, capital plans, and technical and environmental challenges.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans focused on client satisfaction, relationship growth, revenue opportunities, and long-term partnerships.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and prospective industrial accounts.
- Lead and support opportunity development, including client positioning, capture planning, proposal strategy, presentations, and contract negotiations.
- Connect client needs with Waggoner’s engineering, environmental, water/wastewater, and other technical capabilities.
- Collaborate with project managers and technical teams throughout project delivery to maintain client communication, monitor satisfaction, and address concerns.
- Monitor industrial market conditions, regulatory drivers, client investment priorities, and competitive activity.
- Represent Waggoner at industry organizations, conferences, networking events, and other client-facing activities.
- Track account activity, opportunities, relationship development, and business development efforts while communicating insights and priorities to leadership.
- Share market knowledge and help teams develop approaches for serving and growing industrial accounts.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within engineering consulting, environmental services, industrial infrastructure, or a related A/E/C environment.
- Experience working with industrial clients and a strong understanding of the needs, challenges, and decision-making processes within industrial organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships and identify opportunities to expand services and grow accounts.
- Experience with business development activities such as account planning, opportunity identification, proposal development, client presentations, and contract negotiations.
- Working knowledge of engineering and environmental services supporting industrial facilities, such as water and wastewater, infrastructure, permitting/compliance, site development, or related services.
- Ability to understand client business and technical challenges and effectively connect those needs with appropriate technical resources and solutions.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively with client leadership, technical professionals, project teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and strategic-thinking skills with the ability to manage multiple client relationships and opportunities simultaneously.
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, visit project sites, and participate in industry events.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure and/or an advanced degree is a plus but not required.
