About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work on transportation, trails, safety, and multimodal projects
- Evaluate data and conduct site visits and assessments of roadway corridors, trail corridors, and school sites
- Apply multimodal transportation knowledge and trail design standards to develop client recommendations
- Participate in public outreach activities, including virtual and in-person workshops, site audits, pop-up events, charrettes, and demonstration projects
- Use writing, research, mapping, and graphics skills to develop reports and plans
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
- Attend team meetings and trainings
- Develop technical expertise across multiple project types
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or related field
- Broad knowledge of multimodal transportation planning practices and trail design standards
- 0–3 years of relevant work experience; internships in related fields can qualify
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lead, prepare, and contribute to plans, reports, memos, and presentation materials
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects and complete tasks at a high level of quality
- Ability to participate in public outreach or conduct site visits
- Desire to collaborate and participate in multidisciplinary teams
- Basic understanding of ArcGIS Pro, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Acrobat preferred
- Ability to prepare graphics and maps preferred
- Master’s degree in planning or related field preferred
- Experience in a consulting environment preferred
- Interest or experience in the active transportation field preferred
- Membership in a professional practice organization preferred
