About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and analyze freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails
- Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects
- Lead the roadway design discipline and coordinate and integrate associated design disciplines under the direction of a Project Manager
- Support project managers with client relations, stakeholder coordination, and subcontractor management
- Take ownership of projects from start to finish, with attention to quality, budget, and schedule
- Interface with coworkers to achieve shared success
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineering license in state of employment or ability to obtain within one year of hire
- 2-5 years of experience in roadway transportation engineering
- Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams
- Solid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria
- Proficiency using Autodesk and/or Bentley civil design software
- Knowledge of DOT standards and plan preparation procedures
- Drainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is a plus
- Solid written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project assignment
