About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a portfolio of municipal water and wastewater projects from planning and design through construction
  • Serve as the primary technical and client contact on assigned projects
  • Prepare and oversee engineering reports, design calculations, specifications, and cost estimates for water supply, treatment and distribution, and wastewater treatment and collection projects
  • Coordinate compliance with NYSDOH, DEC, and EFC requirements
  • Coordinate grant and funding programs such as GIGP, DWSRF, CDBG, and USDA
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop project engineers and design staff
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and contracts, including construction administration

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York State
  • 10+ years of experience in municipal water and wastewater engineering
  • 8+ years of direct project management responsibility
  • Working knowledge of water and wastewater system regulations
  • Working knowledge of grant programs
  • Working knowledge of NYS municipal procurement requirements
  • Experience preparing and managing grant-funded infrastructure projects
