About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a portfolio of municipal water and wastewater projects from planning and design through construction
- Serve as the primary technical and client contact on assigned projects
- Prepare and oversee engineering reports, design calculations, specifications, and cost estimates for water supply, treatment and distribution, and wastewater treatment and collection projects
- Coordinate compliance with NYSDOH, DEC, and EFC requirements
- Coordinate grant and funding programs such as GIGP, DWSRF, CDBG, and USDA
- Supervise, mentor, and develop project engineers and design staff
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and contracts, including construction administration
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York State
- 10+ years of experience in municipal water and wastewater engineering
- 8+ years of direct project management responsibility
- Working knowledge of water and wastewater system regulations
- Working knowledge of grant programs
- Working knowledge of NYS municipal procurement requirements
- Experience preparing and managing grant-funded infrastructure projects
