About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the strategic and operational transformation of the South Region
  • Define, execute, and scale business maturity and performance across functions, firms, and markets
  • Connect strategy, people, process, and financial performance to drive scalable, profitable growth and long-term value creation
  • Partner with the CEO, Region Partner Presidents, CFO, CTO, CPO, and other senior leaders to accelerate growth, integration, and value creation
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and drive business performance
  • Translate platform strategy into actionable growth initiatives across functions, firms, and business units
  • Align strategy across organizational levels and clarify how work connects to the broader mission
  • Drive strategic initiatives including cross-sell/upsell, brand recognition, pricing standardization, market/service expansion, insourcing, and resource sharing
  • Establish and monitor KPIs across firms
  • Build and scale operating processes, systems, SOPs, tools, dashboards, and business review structures
  • Mature business management disciplines including gross margin optimization, merit timing, organizational design, and project governance
  • Implement performance reporting and accountability systems that drive EBITA and financial outcomes
  • Evaluate financial performance, market strategies, hiring plans, and growth strategies
  • Manage cost discipline and return on investment across initiatives
  • Implement forecasting, budgeting, and performance management tools
  • Lead acquisition evaluation and post-close integration, including synergy realization, cultural alignment, unified systems, reporting, and Value Creation Plans
  • Develop technology-enabled solutions improving visibility, collaboration, and scalability
  • Standardize operational levers including organizational structure, incentive programs, pricing, and decision-making models
  • Facilitate business reviews, project tracking, and intra-platform collaboration
  • Build a people-first culture supporting recruiting, retention, accountability, productivity, and pride
  • Promote leadership development, cultural alignment, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Empower local teams while ensuring consistent operating norms and performance standards
  • Report directly to the Region CEO and serve as a member of the Region Executive Team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in operations, strategy, or general management, ideally within a platform business or private equity-backed environment
  • Proven success executing business transformations, building performance management systems, and leading multi-site or multi-entity organizations
  • Track record of operational due diligence and post-acquisition integration
  • Strong analytical mindset and financial acumen linking process improvements and human capital strategies to financial outcomes
  • Experience building and leading cross-functional operating systems, SOPs, and scalable business infrastructure
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build consensus across varied stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, results-driven operating style
  • High EQ, IQ, and aptitude leader who builds trusted relationships and influences without formal authority
  • Entrepreneurial and adaptable, with a bias for action and accountability
  • Strong communicator capable of synthesizing complexity into clarity for diverse audiences
  • Ability to lead through change in dynamic, high-growth environments
  • Experience in architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), particularly engineering consulting, strongly preferred
  • Relevant operational leadership, financial acumen, and change-management experience in adjacent professional or technical services businesses considered
  • Residence within the South Region preferred, with convenient access to a major airport
