About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sit on the Department Leadership Team and advise senior leaders on financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- Manage ECIS departmental budgets, including development, monitoring, forecasting and reporting
- Lead monthly reporting and financial analysis, including journals, reconciliations, actuals, variance analysis and executive reporting
- Support contract and procurement activities across the ECIS division, ensuring expenditure remains within agreed budgets
- Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and outputs across ECIS
- Provide financial analysis and advice to support decision-making
- Facilitate communication with ICT groups, users and stakeholders
- Monitor asset lifecycle plans and funding
- Develop annual departmental budget submissions, capturing project and OPEX costs
- Report effectively against the TZV Technology Roadmap
- Lead improvements to reporting, financial processes, systems and dashboards
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Diploma/Tertiary qualification in IT or finance studies or related discipline and/or 10 years’/substantial experience in ICT and/or finance
- Extensive experience in the use and deployment of leading-edge technologies, solutions and technology trends aligned to IT strategy
- Demonstrated ability and understanding of VGPB policies and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to break down complex concepts to all levels of the business
- Experience providing financial business support in a government environment is desirable
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to build trusted relationships, influence outcomes including strategic decisions, and work effectively with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Permanent Resident status
- Evidence of Australian working rights
- Successful completion of a Pre-employment Medical Declaration
- National Police Check clearance
