About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform mechanical assembly, functional tests, test setups, and finish operations on product lines according to blueprints and planning
- Perform functional tests to maximize quality and productivity while working on multiple machines
- Determine assembly operation sequences with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Control
- Identify functional test applications suitable for computer automation and opportunities for methods improvement
- Determine causes and corrective actions through failure analysis with Design Engineering and Quality Control
- Maintain orderly, retrievable records of work performed, including test setups, shop books, photos, and procedures
- Set up and conduct tests and experiments on components and complete units to evaluate design characteristics and performance
- Work with hazardous chemicals and potentially caustic aerospace hydraulic fluids
- Support aerospace repair and overhaul operations for hydraulic actuators, valves, manifolds, fuses, and holdback bars
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- General mechanical knowledge or background required
- Knowledge of advanced hydraulic and electro-hydraulic theory and formula preferred
- Assembly Test Technician II: Two years of hands-on mechanical assembly experience, or two years of proven proficiency in a similar industrial environment
- Safe use of hand/power tools
- Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and hydraulic diagrams is a plus
- Intermediate computer skills
- Willingness to work in a team environment and participate in team process improvement discussions/projects
- Must be able to work overtime, which may include occasional weekends
- Availability to work annual shift rotations between 1st and 3rd shifts
- Ability to work with hazardous chemicals and caustic oils
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- U.S. applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
- For applicable positions, must be a US Person under ITAR or eligible for approval for a U.S. Government export license
