About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deburr aircraft gears and complex housings.
  • Sand blast and prepare parts for heat treatment.
  • Perform visual inspection of assignments.
  • Use portable air grinders, electric motors with mandrels, files, stones, and other hand tools to remove burrs and sharp edges.
  • Operate deburring machines, polishers, part washers, and sandblasters as needed.
  • Follow operations/manufacturing instructions to ensure products conform to print specifications.
  • Deburr internal and external metal-part surfaces using motorized, pneumatic, and manual methods.
  • Complete required paperwork to maintain product-build traceability.
  • Use hand tools for parts marking serial numbers.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment and comply with EHS procedures, rules, regulations, training, and PPE requirements.
  • Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous situations to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in deburring of aircraft gears and housings is preferred.
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques is beneficial.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints is preferred.
  • Able to complete fine finish work using bore scopes and magnification devices.
  • Ability to understand process sketches and drawings along with selection of abrasives to ensure design intent is achieved.
  • Able to use Hand tool for Parts Marking serial numbers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Physical ability to operate and repair machines.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, or stretching.
  • Work may require bending, carrying, lifting to fifty (50) pounds, pulling, pushing, and standing.
  • U.S. applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • For applicable positions subject to ITAR/EAR, must be a US Person or eligible for approval for a U.S. Government export license.
