About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform final inspection of aerospace jet engine components
- Perform first piece and in-process inspection
- Uphold company safety policies and ensure products meet Triumph Group and customer requirements
- Use inspection equipment to assure product quality and manufacturing accuracy
- Maintain accurate product quality documentation and records, including Material Certifications, First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102), Inspection Method Sheets (IMS), and First Piece Inspection records
- Read and interpret aerospace blueprints and geometrical tolerancing
- Use standard inspection measurement equipment, including micrometers, dial bore gauges, internal and external thread gauges, sine plates, and indicators
- Use chemicals and solvents as part of inspection processes
- Troubleshoot equipment and recommend new or replacement parts and equipment
- Work closely with suppliers to solve problems
- Train other inspectors or operators in inspection methods as required
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external customers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School or Technical School Diploma or equivalent
- Associates Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Technology a plus
- A minimum of 3 years in quality inspection/machining (final, source and in process inspection) working in a manufacturing environment
- Must have working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, gages, micrometers, borescopes, and other measuring tools
- Problem identification and resolution skills
- Experience with quality management systems compliant with AS9100 and knowledgeable of AS9102 First Article Inspection Report requirements preferred
- Ability to apply geometry and trigonometry skills to solve problems and calibrate equipment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer focus
- Ability to build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers
- A strong background in manufacturing and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to use hand tools
