About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Share responsibility as a site leadership team member for achieving financial and non-financial business goals.
  • Lead execution of customer contracts through production operations and facilities leadership.
  • Achieve or exceed program objectives for schedule, cost and quality.
  • Build and implement improvement goals and aggressive schedules across the organization.
  • Establish KPIs and operations metrics and report progress, achievements and business results.
  • Develop reporting cadence for executive leadership, management, union and hourly workforce, and customers.
  • Participate in union meetings, grievances, arbitrations and contract negotiations as required.
  • Drive lean culture integration and deployment of the Triumph Operating System (TOS).
  • Recognize and solve challenges affecting production objectives.
  • Allocate resources and assess operating-department policies.
  • Direct evaluation, justification and recommendation of capital equipment purchases.
  • Participate in acquisition and setup of new equipment, processes and facilities.
  • Develop operations budgets and analyze monthly financial statements.
  • Guide, direct and approve budgeting activities and prepare monthly Operations reports.
  • Attract, retain and develop operational talent through mentoring, empowerment and accountable leadership.
  • Ensure succession planning for self and direct reports.
  • Build cross-functional relationships to improve manufacturing quality, customer service, process efficiency and cost.
  • Work with Program Management counterparts to ensure clear and consistent customer communication.
  • Comply with environmental, health and safety policies, training and PPE requirements.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelors degree (BA) in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field.
  • Five (5) years experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Experience leading an operation with significant welding and machining lines is highly preferred.
  • Experience leading production operations in a low volume/high mix environment is ideal.
  • Proven success in leading and cultivating highly engaged, empowered and accountable teams, of at least 50+ employees, through positive and proactive leadership is required.
  • Prior experience leading or supporting cultural transformation in a unionized environment is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and implementing lean/continuous improvement strategies and additional best-in-class manufacturing techniques to drive competitive advantage in quality, cost and schedule is required.
  • Experience communicating consistently and effectively with customers directly or as part of a team is highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and organizational skills are required.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project and various analysis tools is required.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • For select positions subject to ITAR/EAR, proof of U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residence, or U.S. Immigration Status may be required.
