About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform surface preparation and painting of aircraft hydraulic assemblies and components
  • Complete pre-paint preparation including sanding/abrading, washing, and masking
  • Read and interpret Technical Data Sheets to safely mix paints according to specifications
  • Operate pneumatic spray guns and other pneumatic tools and equipment
  • Follow work instructions, blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing procedures
  • Apply technical markings, decals, spray masks, and stencils
  • Work with hazardous chemicals, paints, sealants, solvents, paint strippers, and thinners
  • Monitor and verify quality using manufacturing planning, quality plans, and engineering drawings
  • Meet production deadlines by following manufacturing schedules and procedures
  • Work with support resources and cell leaders to resolve production problems
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment and adhere to safety policies and EHS requirements
  • Participate in FOD, 5S, TPM, PM, and process improvement programs
  • Identify ways to improve manufacturing efficiency and effectiveness
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent required
  • Painter 1: Prior hands-on spray-painting experience in a comparable industrial environment preferred
  • Painter 2: 2 years of actual hands-on spray-painting or 2 years of proven proficiency in a comparable industrial environment
  • Painter 3: 4 years of actual hands-on spray-painting or 4 years of proven proficiency in a similar industrial environment
  • Basic understanding of general mathematics and ability to apply basic math concepts preferred
  • Basic understanding of precision measuring devices preferred
  • Basic understanding of reading part drawings/blueprints, including dimensioning and tolerancing preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills preferred
  • Ability to work with hazardous chemicals
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • U.S. applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • For applicable export-controlled positions, must be a U.S. Person under ITAR or eligible for approval for a U.S. Government export license
