About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality/inspection standards and evaluation methods for products and processes
  • Establish quality systems, procedures, inspection plans, quality performance trends, statistical plans, cost estimates, and quality plans
  • Ensure project and process control documentation complies with requirements and contracts
  • Assess quality performance and cost of quality using statistical and analytical methods
  • Devise and implement methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products, processes, and production equipment
  • Coordinate technical evaluations, analysis, and data acquisition to achieve division quality objectives
  • Plan, prepare, and monitor work progress; evaluate time standards and recommend corrective action
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, and machinery to meet delivery due dates
  • Provide statistical information for quality improvements by determining and applying testing methods and criteria
  • Guide resolution of work-related problems and application of performance and quality standards
  • Establish and maintain controls for accurate and timely completion of work projects
  • Train and develop employees and evaluate work performance
  • Recommend personnel actions and apply performance-management and leadership techniques
  • Explain and support company policies and procedures and comply with negotiated labor agreements
  • Ensure proper use of machinery, tools, and company equipment
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area; monitor, report, and resolve unsafe conditions
  • Lead employees in product improvement and cycle-time reduction programs
  • Conduct regular department meetings
  • Perform other related responsibilities as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience providing theoretical and practical knowledge in the field
  • Three or more years of related experience
  • Effective supervisory / leadership skills
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • For select positions, proof of U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residence, or U.S. Immigration Status may be required under ITAR/EAR
  • Fundamental knowledge of lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques
  • General knowledge of aerospace industry or similar industry products and system requirements
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to the field
  • Ability to use standard business application software and/or specialized data analysis tools
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player
  • Mechanical aptitude to assist in solving process-related issues
  • Supervisors participate in rotational weekend coverage
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
