About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Join Trócaire’s Ireland (Fundraising and Public Engagement) Committee
  • Oversee the strategic direction and implementation of Trócaire’s Global Brand, Public Engagement and Fundraising across the island of Ireland
  • Report regularly on the committee’s governance activities to the Board
  • Advise the Director of Ireland Programmes on strategic matters affecting Trócaire’s mandate in Ireland
  • Participate, when requested, in temporary “Task & Complete” teams providing oversight or recommendations on strategic, high-risk or emerging topics
  • Attend at least four committee meetings annually during working hours, through a mix of in-person and online meetings
  • Contribute knowledge and skills to Trócaire, an international development and humanitarian agency addressing poverty, injustice and humanitarian crises

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in commercial leadership and business growth, marketing, brand and communications, customer, audience or consumer engagement, digital marketing, innovation and transformation, strategic planning and market development, or consumer insights and customer experience
  • Senior leadership experience in a commercial, business, marketing, customer or communications environment
  • Strong understanding of the Irish market and consumer landscape
  • Strong track record of developing and delivering successful growth, marketing, brand or customer engagement strategies
  • Experience using customer, audience, market or consumer insights to drive organisational performance and growth
  • Experience influencing and collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including senior executives, boards or external partners
  • Understanding of current trends in consumer behaviour, customer engagement, digital communications and brand development
  • Comfort working and contributing remotely and in hybrid meeting settings
  • Strong commitment to social justice and human rights, including gender equality
  • Understanding of and affinity with the ethos of Trócaire as an agency inspired by Catholic Social Teaching
  • Willingness to serve a three-year term, with the option of a second three-year term
  • Candidates must submit a short note explaining their interest and skills, along with a CV
  • Any appointed candidate must agree to Trócaire’s Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy and undergo role-specific due diligence and screening
