About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate the administrative lifecycle of eMerge matters, including new matter intake, conflicts coordination, matter setup, and related operational steps
  • Monitor key operational metrics and identify patterns, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Oversee matter rates, estimates, and budgets, including tracking status and coordinating timely communication
  • Create, track, and communicate matter status updates, deadlines, responsiveness expectations, budget and estimate updates, cost-savings information, tools used, and other operational details
  • Provide operational support to eMerge Attorney Case Managers by reducing administrative and tracking burdens
  • Support operating initiatives such as process changes, tool rollouts, and reporting enhancements
  • Support the Director of eMerge Operations with dashboards, analyses, and presentations
  • Coordinate between eMerge and firm teams including IT, Finance, Marketing, and Innovation
  • Review workflows to identify opportunities to streamline, standardize, and reduce friction
  • Develop and present recommendations, process changes, templates, checklists, and tools, and support implementation
  • Stay current with eDiscovery, legal operations, and data management trends and recommend enhancements
  • Assist with training and guide legal and administrative staff on tools, processes, and best practices
  • Maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and communication protocols
  • Protect confidential information and maintain a client-service-first approach

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities; able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and proactively regarding matter status, budget and estimate updates, deadlines, risks, and next steps
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build productive relationships at all levels
  • Ability to analyze operational issues, interpret data/metrics, and develop practical, solution-oriented recommendations
  • Ability to triage routine operational issues and escalate complex matters appropriately
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Comfort developing and maintaining trackers, reports, dashboards, and summaries
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, solution-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Strong commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and organizational values
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining focus on high-impact activities
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery, litigation support, or legal operations processes; experience with related tools and systems is preferred
  • Understanding of the legal ecosystem and the evolving role of technology, AI, data, and legal operations
  • Bachelor's degree, or any combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in eDiscovery, litigation support, legal operations, or a related professional services environment
  • Experience supporting operational workflows, reporting, process improvement, and cross-functional coordination
