About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, maintain, and enhance ETL processes and data structures using SSIS and SQL Server
Improve, troubleshoot, and extend production pipelines and reports
Build, maintain, and optimize SSRS reports, including parameterized reports, drilldowns, scheduled subscriptions, and data-driven subscriptions
Develop and optimize SQL stored procedures, views, and queries, including execution plan analysis, indexing strategy, and performance tuning
Build Power Apps and Power Automate solutions for finance and accounting teams
Develop Power BI dashboards and semantic models and support transition toward Microsoft Fabric
Integrate data from flat files, Excel-based feeds, cloud applications, Azure SQL, and on-premises SQL Server databases
Write Python scripts to automate recurring internal tasks and reporting processes
Apply AI tools responsibly to accelerate development, documentation, and analysis
Partner with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and explain data and results
Mentor junior engineers and analysts, perform code reviews, and contribute to team standards and documentation
Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy, reliability, and usability of firm financial information

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or related field
Minimum eight (8) years of relevant work experience with ETL, data integration and migration, and strong SQL
Minimum three (3) years of experience with Datawarehouse technologies
Minimum three (3) years of experience in Power BI development and administration
Minimum three (3) years of experience working with and translating company financial data into executive-level reports and KPI’s
Experience in creating and deploying ETL processes using SSIS
Hands-on experience to create Python scripts and automate the internal processes
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Azure, APIs, Microsoft Fabric, SSRS, SSIS, Power Apps, PowerShell, Power BI, and Python
Strong proficiency in SQL, data engineering, and data management practices
Experience with Fabric preferred
Experience with Aderant, Elite, or similar legal billing and practice management systems is beneficial
Prior law firm or professional services experience is a plus
Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
Ability to work independently in remote, hybrid, and in-office settings
