About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects
- Ensure project alignment with business goals and technical feasibility
- Manage expectations and provide regular status updates to leadership and clients
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables with stakeholders and technical teams
- Drive Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for large, mission-critical software projects
- Refine project management processes and execution strategies with company leadership
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships as a senior-level advisor
- Anticipate and mitigate risks and address challenges proactively
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices, budgets, timelines, and contractual obligations
- Serve as an escalation point for project roadblocks
- Promote continuous learning and professional development within the project management team
- Act as the primary liaison for executive-level client communications
- Manage and negotiate project scope, contracts, and change orders
- Drive stakeholder engagement and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and HR on company-wide initiatives
- Assist with resource planning, invoicing, and project financial management
- Participate in thought leadership initiatives, presentations, and industry discussions
- Perform requirements gathering, modeling, and documentation using contemporary agile methods
- Assist and mentor other team members where appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6-8+ years of experience managing large-scale software development projects with cross-functional teams
- Strong technical background and understanding of software development processes, tools, and frameworks
- Expertise in Agile, Scrum, and hybrid project management approaches
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with project management tools such as DevOps, GitHub Projects, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar
- PMP, CSM, or other relevant certifications are a plus
- Willingness to work hybrid onsite at the Cohoes, NY office, or be an EST-based US remote worker able to visit the office with some frequency
