About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects
Manage expectations and provide regular status updates to leadership and clients
Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables with stakeholders and technical teams
Drive Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies
Provide strategic direction and oversight for large, mission-critical software projects
Refine project management processes and execution strategies with company leadership
Develop and maintain strong client relationships as a senior-level advisor
Anticipate and mitigate risks and address challenges proactively
Ensure compliance with industry best practices, budgets, timelines, and contractual obligations
Serve as an escalation point for project roadblocks
Promote continuous learning and professional development within the project management team
Act as the primary liaison for executive-level client communications
Manage and negotiate project scope, contracts, and change orders
Drive stakeholder engagement and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle
Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and HR on company-wide initiatives
Assist with resource planning, invoicing, and project financial management
Participate in thought leadership initiatives, presentations, and industry discussions
Perform requirements gathering, modeling, and documentation using contemporary agile methods
Assist and mentor other team members
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Applicants from the United States ONLY
EST-based US-based remote workers must be able to visit the Cohoes, NY office with some frequency
6-8+ years of experience managing large-scale software development projects with cross-functional teams
Strong technical background and understanding of software development processes, tools, and frameworks
Expertise in Agile, Scrum, and hybrid project management approaches
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
Experience with Azure DevOps (Azure Boards) or comparable platforms such as Jira, Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Project
PMP, CSM, or other relevant certifications are a plus
Optional development/engineering background
