About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support projects from Contract to Completion
  • Manage project resources, schedules, financials, documentation, quality, and safety throughout the project life cycle
  • Use BuilderTrend to track project progress, manage documentation, facilitate communication, and provide status reporting
  • Manage project issues, risks, and change requests to support successful, on-time delivery
  • Verify that deliverables meet quality, time, and cost constraints while maximizing customer satisfaction
  • Establish and enforce safety requirements in compliance with industry and company standards
  • Manage and supervise direct reports
  • Lead or assist with scopes of work, delineation of responsibilities, and proposals for larger projects
  • Lead scheduling, budget, and document management from Contract to Completion
  • Build and motivate project teams to achieve goals and milestones
  • Track and report project results and metrics
  • Hire, manage, and mentor project support staff, including project managers, superintendents, and administration
  • Procure subcontractors and suppliers to meet project objectives, schedules, and budgets
  • Chair project team meetings and manage day-to-day project activities and resources
  • Report project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues to regional leadership
  • Apply financial and functional acumen to align solutions with client goals, best practices, and company risk thresholds
  • Ensure contract compliance and manage changes
  • Lead safety tailgate meetings at project phases or shifts
  • Ensure job-site activities comply with OSHA and company safety standards
  • Travel regionally to job sites approximately 50%
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5–8 years of construction-related experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and decisive, with ability to adapt to change and competing demands
  • Technical competence with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project management software
  • Team-building skills with technical and non-technical staff
  • Experience working independently and in collaborative, team-oriented environments
  • Excellent prioritization and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of safety field concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Well organized with excellent customer service skills
  • Negotiation skills with customers and vendors/subcontractors
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects
  • Experience directing the work of others
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans
  • Valid driver's license
  • Candidate must be located in the Maryland/Virginia area
  • Legally authorized to work permanently in the United States
  • Must pass pre-employment drug testing, including marijuana, for this safety-sensitive position
  • Physical ability to perform sustained activity; stand and walk for prolonged periods; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, balance, climb stairs and ladders; use construction personnel hoists; navigate uneven or unfinished areas; handle tools, equipment, and materials; occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work indoors or outdoors, at elevated heights, and in varying weather, noise, odor, dust, or fume conditions
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, or emergency on-call support as operationally needed
