About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage multiple environmental compliance projects simultaneously, including permitting, audits, and regulatory reporting
- Serve as primary client point of contact; maintain strong client relationships and manage expectations
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and programs, including EPA, TCEQ, RRC, NMED, NMOCD, CWA, and CAA
- Oversee preparation and submission of permit applications, compliance reports, and regulatory correspondence
- Coordinate engineers, scientists, GIS specialists, and subcontractors to meet project deliverables
- Manage project budgets, invoicing, financial performance, scope changes, and contract modifications
- Conduct or oversee site visits, compliance audits, and inspections
- Identify and mitigate regulatory and schedule risks
- Support business development, proposal preparation, and client pursuits
- Maintain project documentation and quality control on deliverables
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, regulatory affairs, or environmental project management
- Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations (EPA, TCEQ, RRC, NMED, NMOCD, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
- Professional certification (e.g., PMP, CHMM, PG or PE) preferred but not required
- Experience with federal programs, mining compliance, or litigation support a plus
- Prior consulting experience serving industrial, oil and gas, municipal, or government clients
