About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and build the new headless front-end architecture
- Deliver the initial launch page within the early-next-year schedule
- Establish front-end standards, component patterns, testing frameworks, and code review processes
- Maintain ownership of performance, Core Web Vitals, SEO, and accessibility
- Connect user interfaces with headless CMS platforms and internal APIs
- Mentor team members and collaborate closely with the Core Web engineering manager
- Implement and refine AI-driven agentic workflows across the development lifecycle
- Build a new headless front end for one of the world's most visited news sites
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years in senior front-end engineering
- Advanced React, Next.js (App Router), and TypeScript
- Experience building on Headless CMS and API-driven content
- Focus on Core Web Vitals, Technical SEO, and Web Accessibility
- Proven record establishing automated testing practices
- Active AI-First workflow using daily AI coding assistants
- Fluent English for daily collaboration with a US team
- Reliable internet connection and a laptop for remote work
- Based in Latin America, as indicated by the required application question and the company's Latin American team context
