About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the end-to-end merchant experience from developer onboarding and API integration through payment operations, revenue reconciliation, dispute management, and merchant dashboards
Own the developer platform roadmap, including API design, documentation, sandbox environments, and integration tooling
Partner with engineering to design and ship platform integrations across Shopify, direct API, and emerging channels
Synthesize feedback from sales, merchant support, and direct merchant conversations into a prioritized roadmap
Define success metrics for merchant health, including time to first sale, NRR, and merchant NPS
Instrument systems needed to track merchant health metrics
Translate regulatory constraints into implementable product decisions
Drive cross-functional alignment across sales, customer support, and engineering for smooth merchant launches and ongoing partner success

Requirements

What you’ll need

3–5 years in product management, solutions engineering, developer relations, or a technical customer-facing role
Experience working directly with developers integrating products
Experience working on or with REST APIs
Understanding of webhooks, auth patterns, error handling, and API documentation
Ability to participate meaningfully in API design conversations
Understanding of merchant needs including reconciliation, reporting, and dispute resolution
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical merchants or executives
Precise writing and ability to run decision-oriented meetings
Experience shipping a meaningful v0 in under two weeks
Experience using LLMs to draft specs, analyze feedback, and summarize research
Payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure experience is a bonus, not required
Familiarity with Shopify's platform ecosystem is a bonus, not required
Experience at a company selling to developers or technical buyers is a bonus, not required
