About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review, draft, analyze, and negotiate supplier contracts and agreements
- Represent Truist in negotiations with external suppliers and supplier legal or contract representatives
- Work with legal, sourcing, and risk experts to structure contracts with appropriate risk allocation and supplier performance mechanisms
- Ensure supplier contracts comply with laws, regulations, company policies, and Truist risk appetite
- Maintain knowledge of internal supplier-contract guidelines and customize contract language for business issues
- Escalate complex legal issues to Truist Legal and assist with resolution
- Interpret contractual language and advise stakeholders on legal and commercial risks and mitigation practices
- Provide guidance to internal business teams on corporate contract-related goals and objectives
- Draft contract summaries describing material deviations from Truist standards
- Host meetings with Service/Supplier Managers to review contract summaries and explain business, legal, and service-level terms
- Build relationships with internal clients, sourcing teammates, Truist Legal, and suppliers to advance negotiation strategy
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be located in Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA
- Must work in the office 5 days per week; no remote or telecommute option
- Master’s degree or J.D.; alternatively, Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience, or Master’s degree/J.D. and 2–3 years related experience
- Legal aptitude and understanding of relationships between and among contract provisions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing a high volume of work in a timely manner
- Strong relationship management skills and ability to gain trust and confidence of senior leaders
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- English language fluency required
- Prior experience with Ariba, Archer, and EGRC preferred
