About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform research and loss mitigation across multiple intake channels to make decisions on Financial Crimes cases and alerts
- Research and analyze account activity to assess risk and make decisions according to corporate and departmental policies and procedures
- Analyze and decision multiple Financial Crimes-related cases or alert types
- Use banking systems to investigate transactional information and ensure Financial Crimes requirements are met
- Conduct client research
- Apply critical thinking to make well-supported decisions relative to alert type
- Use internal and external applications in investigations and alert research
- Resolve cases and alerts efficiently while meeting Financial Crimes timelines
- Communicate effectively with internal and external partners or clients
- Participate in BSA/AML/OFAC and/or Fraud-related training to stay current with changing laws and regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree or equivalent education and related training
- Three–five years of banking, financial industry, or related experience, preferably in branch, audit, compliance, legal, risk, or lending
- Ability to learn and perform complex processes governed by departmental procedures, policies, and regulations
- Strong investigative, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Strong work prioritization and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and client service skills
- Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office software products
- Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours as required
- English language fluency required
- Familiarity with sanctions (OFAC) preferred
- Ability to identify, analyze, and escalate challenges preferred
- Familiarity with reviewing and dispositioning alerts preferred
- Ability to classify sanctions hits as correct matches or false positives with limited guidance preferred
- Experience collaborating with team members, cross-functional partners, and management preferred
- Ability to work independently under time constraints and manage time efficiently preferred
- Ability to liaise between internal teams and external business units preferred
- Bachelor's degree or related qualification preferred
