About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute governance processes over the design, execution, and implementation of Operational and Model Risk Transformation initiatives and program risk
  • Inform stakeholders of initiative execution status and risks
  • Support corporate governance processes through results reported to the Operational Risk Management Committee, Enterprise Risk Committee, and Board Risk Committee
  • Oversee Operational and Model Risk Transformation initiatives and drive quality of risk execution activities
  • Identify thematic trends, execution deficiencies, root causes, and recommendations for remedial actions
  • Manage Operational and Model Risk Operations and policy governance activities
  • Execute ORM reporting for transparency to risk leadership, committees, senior officers, executive leadership, the Board, line-of-business managers, and regulatory agencies
  • Provide inputs and data for the OMRM Risk Taxonomy, Risk Appetite Framework operational risk metrics, and Key Risk Indicators
  • Execute issues management reporting and monitoring, driving accountability for timely remediation
  • Manage OMRM policies and policy and procedure management adherence
  • Execute ORM Operations processes supporting risk program owners and hiring managers with onboarding team members
  • Provide targeted feedback, track remedial actions, and monitor sustainable execution
  • Identify executional best practices and continuous improvements to policies, procedures, practices, processes, and methodologies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent education and related training or experience
  • Three years of relevant experience in Risk or Audit functions in a large regional or US financial services firm or commensurate experience as an examiner within the financial services industry
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Presentation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate within all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work strategically and tactically while managing details
  • Strong business acumen and organizational agility
  • Ability to identify and influence change consistent with Truist’s purpose, mission, and values
  • Profound sense of ethics and ability to deal with pressure from constituents
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be located in Charlotte, NC or Winston, NC
  • English language fluency required
  • Must be authorized to work without employer visa sponsorship or immigration-related support
