About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the commercial real estate analysis function in loan production office(s)
- Provide high-level analytical support, including preparation of preliminary and final mortgage loan applications, submissions and documents
- Assist in underwriting, approval and closing of mortgage loan transactions
- Train loan production analysts
- Assist corporate staff in managing analyst functions
- Manage workload and quality of mortgage loan analysts
- Represent Grandbridge Real Estate Capital at real estate industry trade functions
- Advise corporate and loan production staff on current commercial real estate trends
- Create and maintain real estate data files
- Attend borrower and lender meetings to develop relationships
- Analyze complex real estate property and financial situations and advise on alternative courses of action
- Obtain, understand and analyze property, borrower, lender and third-party data for mortgage loan submissions
- Inspect properties and document physical and economic conditions using photographs, notes and maps
- Interview owners, tenants and third-party report providers
- Analyze leases, historical income and expenses to estimate Net Operating Income and evaluate market assumptions
- Analyze borrower legal structures and financial statements
- Analyze real estate characteristics against industry norms and lender requirements
- Prepare mortgage loan submissions using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Order, track and analyze appraisals, environmental and engineering studies, credit reports and other third-party reports
- Review third-party appraisals for lender compliance
- Track committed transactions through closing and obtain additional borrower information
- Interface with borrowers and lenders, obtain loan quotes, and support negotiation of applications, commitments and closings
- Understand commercial property types, real estate lending parameters, interest-rate structures and reasonableness tests
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and related training
- Three years as a commercial real estate analyst, broker, leasing agent or property manager or equivalent
- Completion of the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Commercial Real Estate Finance Underwriting Seminar
- Completion of Courses 110, 120, and 310 of the Appraisal Institute
- Must have earned the CCIM designation awarded by the CCIM Institute
- Proficient with contact databases, Lotus Notes, geographical mapping programs, digital imaging, the Internet, digital and film cameras and report binding machine
- Proficient with industry standard commercial real estate analysis programs, such as Argus
- Ability to organize, direct and supervise others
- High attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to simultaneously handle a variety of assignments
- Ability to work harmoniously with internal/external workers/customers
- Ability to take initiative with nominal direction
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
- Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
- Master’s in Business Administration or Master’s degree in Finance or Real Estate preferred
