About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the direct sales manager of a Mortgage Loan Originator team
  • Deliver growth and profit by executing Truist Mortgage LOB strategic plans and initiatives
  • Achieve production goals through personal production and effective leadership, recruiting, retention, coaching, and development of a profitable sales team
  • Drive mortgage loan sales by leading, communicating, and executing a strategic plan
  • Manage relationships with internal and external centers of influence and coordinate sales activities with internal Truist partners
  • Participate in business development efforts with the MLO team
  • Ensure personal and team adherence to Truist Lending policies, procedures, government regulations, secondary market requirements, compliance standards, and quality-control audit requirements
  • Improve client service quality through digital client experience, technology adoption, and mortgage process management
  • Build partnerships between the sales team and operations
  • Assist Mortgage Loan Fulfillment with client, attorney, or appraiser document follow-up when required through quality control or post-closing review
  • Monitor local real estate market conditions, mortgage product and process trends, and competitive positioning
  • Provide feedback and solutions regarding mortgage lending delivery capabilities
  • Work first shift and perform sitting, standing, and walking frequently
  • Work in a regular office environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related experience
  • 5+ years mortgage industry experience or experience in the financial services field
  • Manages a team of 4+ Mortgage Loan Originators
  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending and knowledge of all types of mortgage loans
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to recruit and retain productive, engaged teammates
  • Registered and maintains an active Truist sponsored registration in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLSR)
  • Assigned a unique identifier number in compliance with federal S.A.F.E. Act requirements
  • Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need
  • Able to access and interpret client information received from a computer and hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone
  • Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Able to travel up to 25%
  • English language fluency required
