About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with risk, business, and governance stakeholders to support second line of defense oversight
  • Conduct risk assessments, effective challenge, monitoring, and evaluation of risk governance and management practices
  • Research, review governance artifacts, validate information, and synthesize complex data from multiple sources
  • Evaluate adherence to policies, standards, and procedures
  • Identify risks, control gaps, and opportunities to strengthen controls and governance practices
  • Use automation and artificial intelligence tools to improve information gathering, evidence review, knowledge discovery, workflow management, and assessment execution
  • Improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and increase consistency and scalability of risk oversight activities
  • Maintain understanding of business processes, data governance, risk frameworks, and control environments
  • Develop clear, concise, well-supported analyses for senior risk leaders
  • Lead small projects and play significant roles in larger initiatives
  • Explain complex, difficult, or sensitive information
  • Act as a resource and mentor for less experienced teammates
  • May manage a small team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • In-depth knowledge of principles, practices, theories, and/or methodologies associated with a professional discipline such as information technology, project management, finance, or risk management
  • Foundational understanding of related professional disciplines
  • Experience managing small projects
  • Knowledge of the industry's competitive landscape and factors differentiating Truist and its competitors
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex information to varied audiences and build stakeholder consensus
  • Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates
  • English language fluency required
  • Master's degree or MBA and 5 years of related experience preferred
  • Previous banking industry experience preferred
  • Experience leveraging automation and artificial intelligence tools preferred
  • Experience interpreting policies, standards, procedures, controls, or regulatory requirements preferred
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise communications for senior stakeholders preferred
