About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide guidance, subject matter expertise, and oversight on one or multiple operational risk management programs
  • Implement operational risk management programs, including policy, procedures, systems, training, monitoring, and validation
  • Oversee effective execution of operational risk management programs across the corporation
  • Promote operational risk awareness through training activities
  • Help ensure program components meet regulatory expectations and align with industry best practices
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with stakeholders in all business units and second line functions
  • Stay current on emerging issues related to risk management, business process automation and design, and relevant disciplines
  • Enhance scenario analysis methodologies, governance, tooling, data quality, reporting, and integration with broader risk management programs
  • Use external loss databases, consortium data, or industry benchmarking sources such as ORX
  • Facilitate complex cross-functional initiatives enabling proactive risk management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7 years of banking or related management experience
  • Strong operational risk management knowledge, leadership and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present issues, observations, and recommendations
  • Adept with Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of regulatory expectations related to operational risk scenario analysis, stress testing, and risk quantification
  • Experience facilitating scenario workshops across multiple business lines
  • English language fluency required
  • Preferred: Master of Business Administration, Risk Management, or relevant Master's degree
  • Preferred: Graduate of Leadership Development Program, Banking School, or equivalent industry training program
  • Preferred: Experience with new Corporate operational risk programs or initiatives
  • Preferred: Experience with Archer or similar GRC platforms
  • Preferred: Experience translating complex risk information into clear executive-level communications and presentations
