About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, establish, and execute Truist's fraud risk management program and oversight framework
  • Provide ongoing oversight of the company's fraud risk management activities
  • Develop and maintain fraud risk assessments and recommend control enhancements
  • Develop and maintain Key Risk Indicators, articulate gaps to executives, and track recommendations to completion
  • Serve as an operational fraud risk expert for risk managers on higher-risk and complex assignments
  • Collaborate with Fraud Strategy, Fraud Operations, and first-line business teams on emerging threats and acquisition/account management strategies
  • Report to executive management on the effectiveness of first-line fraud capabilities
  • Track and monitor fraud issue remediation using GRC tools and report status updates to management
  • Ensure program components meet regulatory expectations and industry best practices
  • Monitor emerging issues in risk management, business process automation, design, and related disciplines
  • Support teammate development through coaching and mentorship
  • Maintain working relationships with stakeholders across business units and second-line functions
  • Promote enterprise risk culture focused on risk and compliance awareness, ethical practices, transparency, and escalation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ten years of banking or related management experience
  • Five years of management experience including direct supervisory responsibility
  • Strong Operational and Fraud Risk Management knowledge, leadership, and decision-making skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Extensive experience designing, developing, implementing, and executing risk management programs
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and guidance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders and influence change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting issues, observations, and recommendations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • English language fluency required
  • Preferred: Advanced Business Degree (MBA, MS, MA, etc.)
  • Preferred: Industry certification such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
  • Preferred: Experience establishing corporate operational fraud risk programs or initiatives with large, complex financial institutions
  • Preferred: Experience in fraud risk consulting or strategic planning roles
  • Preferred: Experience working for or with regulatory agencies (FRB, OCC, FDIC)
