About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Servicing and Asset Management department as the primary resource for insurance monitoring and compliance for an assigned portfolio of commercial loans
- Monitor insurance renewals and ensure timely receipt of evidence of coverage, premium invoices and other required documentation
- Review, analyze and interpret property and liability insurance policies for compliance with loan documents, lender requirements, government regulations and internal policies
- Review and compile loan and collateral data, including replacement cost, loss of income calculations, third-party reports and local ordinances
- Complete Blanket and Flood Analysis for complex policies
- Correspond with lenders, borrowers, insurance agents and insurance companies to resolve non-compliance issues and discrepancies
- Gather documentation and review waiver feasibility and risk for lender waiver requests
- Monitor non-compliance escalation for potential force-placed insurance and coordinate with Insurance Management
- Review casualty losses and advise internal and external clients regarding insurance coverage and loss proceeds requirements
- Assist with insurance activities for new loan setup, significant events, loan transfers, flood zone monitoring, audit data gathering, system enhancement testing and special projects
- Serve as a subject matter expert for internal teammates and resolve insurance-related discrepancies
- Update loan servicing systems, shared drives and lender applications thoroughly and timely
- Ensure compliance with Insurance Team policies and procedures and recommend process enhancements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for insurance matters for an assigned portfolio
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial Property insurance
- Knowledge of various types of commercial property insurance policies and ability to read/interpret them
- Commercial insurance agency and/or servicing work experience
- Insurance compliance background, including coverage discrepancies, industry standards and government regulations
- Ability to understand complex loan documents and third-party reports such as appraisals, surveys and title
- Ability to work with teammates and customers at all levels within an organization
- Strong PC skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook and Word
- Excellent time management and ability to multi-task, follow through on commitments, meet deadlines and drive results
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight time constraints, process high volumes, including working overtime if required
- Strong customer service skills
- Professional and polished demeanor
- Detail oriented with strong analytical ability
- Ability to assess stakeholders involved and determine appropriate actions for resolving escalated issues
- Ability to determine feasibility of insurance waivers, evaluate risk, substantiate recommendations and make recommendations

- Preferred: insurance certifications/designations such as CIC, ARM, AU, CLCS, CPCU, CISR
- Preferred: commercial multifamily insurance compliance background relating to FNMA, FHLMC and FHA/GNMA
- Preferred: prior commercial real estate loan servicing experience
- 4-year degree preferred
